Default Asparagus

I put a posting up a short while ago, 'When should our Asparagus start to
show?'

Lots of nice replies thank you. But they never did show :-(

The crowns have now been inspected. Rotten to the core, and now 'composting'

Thanks for the replies. Do we try again? Don't know.

But why dead? Very severe weather whilst we were away in January/February?

Mike

Only 3 or 4 of mine are showing yet but close inspection indicates that
the others are not far behind. I am no expert so I'd appreciate any
advice on when they normally come up. Last couple of years a few spears
came up - then there was a lull and then loads appeared. Sadly last
year's late frost wiped out the earliest (spears along with the plum
blossom). I have a couple of dozen crowns of two types Guelph Millennium
and Pacific Purple. Fingers are crossed for a decent crop as they were
delicious last year .... but I seem to recall things were earlier then.
