Default Is it a bee? Is it a wasp?

No, it's a hover fly. My wife asked me to identify whether something
was a queen wasp or a bumble bee, I looked, and thought "Heck, it's
one of the Diptera." Quite impressive.

Regards,
Nick Maclaren.
