And he's starting to think Chickeny (the original one, who is now
non-laying, still, it seems, despite it looking like she may have started
again) may be on her last legs.

She's looking sad and sluggish, she's not eating, and he says he could hear
her breathing heavily when he picked her up last night. She doesn't look
dopey at all, but she's very unwilling to move (even with a shove), and
she's avoiding company (hiding underneath the roosting box - took ages to
get her to go to bed last night!)

Is it curtains for Chickeny, or is she going to pull through? Is there
anything anyone can advise to give her to perk her up a bit?

(She's not looking skinny from not eating, if anything she's looking a bit
on the tubby side, probably cos she's eating like a layer but not laying!)

Get her to the vet. If she's not laying & decidedly off-colour she may have
an egg stuck inside. If it is, then it is serious.
