Default Cyclanthera brachystachya

Has anyone eaten the shoots and leaves of this? Mine is growing
vigorously, but there are lots of fleshy shoots, plenty of flowers,
but no fruit.

A Web search indicates that the shoots and leaves of C. pedata are
edible, but with some indication that they may be dangerous to some
people or in overdose. But there is nothing either way for
C. brachystachya.

Being a cucurbit, I am a bit cautious, but there aren't many in
that family that are lethally poisonous in small quantities (unlike
the solanaceae and leguminoseae).

Regards,
Nick Maclaren.
