But isn't that the whole point of eating okra, the ingestion of
sliminess combined (if you are lucky) with the sensation of fine
velvet?


Ah. Just, I can imagine, like eating a slug then? ;-)

Less chewy. You wouldn't wean children on slugs. Grubs, however,
are another matter.

Less chewy. You wouldn't wean children on slugs. Grubs, however,
are another matter.


I thought you were weaned on okra? Presumably your mama didn't include
grubs until meat was introduced to your infant palate :-)
