I have been looking at magazines on gardening but they all seem to be mainly
covering flowers. Is there a magazine available which specialises more in
vegetables, and on the same subject a very good book please.

The Kitchen Garden monthly magazine is good.
They have a web site http://www.kitchengarden.co.uk/

I would recommend 'Garden News' which is more of a newspaper but is
published weekly with a lot of good, basic advice.

Yea, I'd second this, it's a graet read, excellent value, and since it's
weekly if it doesn't quite match what you want this week, well the next ones
only a few days away !

As for books, the Hessayon book on vegetables will give you loads of details
on pretty much everything you NEED to know, though it's not exactly a night
in reading book, for that I go for anything by Monty Donn or Geoff Hamilton.
