Default Allotment Trusts

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of setting up a trust to
run an allotment site(s) or to supply services to allotment holders?

I know that Windsor and Maidenhead BC have set up something like that for
all their allotment sites. Basically the trust rents all the sites in the
Borough in bulk from the Council and then sublets the plots to the
individual allotment holders and does all the admin, maintenance,
insurance...... So the gardeners don't pay anything like we do in the
neighbouring Borough, about one quarter in fact.
If you give the Council there a ring I'm sure they would put you in touch
with someone to talk to.
