Default Top soil

Hi all!
I am based in the Rep of Ireland, in Co. Kildare. Unfortunately,
there are no gardening newsgroups in the ROI, so I am trying my luck
here on the off chance someone might be able to help.
How much can I expect to pay per truckload of good quality topsoil in
the Kildare area? I have been quoted €200 (approx Stg£135), which
seems quite expensive... or does it?
TIA!

Depends on the size of the truck!
We paid £86 for an 8 Ton truckload.
Beautiful stuff from a local horticultural supplier

Probably about right - around £10 per tonne depending on distance and
quality. Look for a guy who supplies local landscapers etc - he will
offer a range of qualities like screened, unscreened, added grit and
manure or mushroom compost possibly with some fertiliser for new
borders. Other suppliers are just hauliers picking up what builders
scrape off new sites which may or may not be worth having.
