Default screening ideas...

....please.
Whats the best thing to grow for screening that grows to around 10 to 12
foot, but doesnt need loads of maintenance. It also needs to be quite fast
growing.

I would say different kinds of berberis as long as you don't have children
who will get on to the thorns

Eucalyptus? It can be let go or it can be kept in check. It's evergreen,
good to look at, smells good and is 'airy' enough not to make you feel as if
you're looking at a solid, unyielding mass of green.
Aucuba doesn't seem to be planted much these days but that's attractive.
