to make acid soil?
"Jane Ransom" wrote in message ... In article , Suzanne ODonnell writes I have just bought a leucothoe shrub - it requires acid /peaty soil - question can I just spread some peat compost around the area it will grow in? - or do I need something more specific like 'ericaous' if that's spelt correctly. When we plant this sort of plant we add ericaceous compost to the soil when we plant it. Subsequently, we water it 3 or 4 times through the summer months with Miracid. All our acid loving plants seem to be doing ok on this treatment. -- Jane Ransom in Lancaster. I won't respond to private emails that are on topic for urg but if you need to email me for any other reason, put jandg dot demon dot co dot uk where you see deadspam.com Same here .. dig in ericaceous and feed during the growing season regularly with miracid or other acid oriented fertiliser.
