Default Riviera pears

Has anyone grown these in UK or heard of the variety being grown here? I
ask because friends of mine in USA rave about them for flavour and
juiciness.

Haven't heard of them, can't find them listed. Google shows the ads for the
produce in the USA. Fwiw, I find lots of pear varieties are absolutely
stunning for flavour & juiciness- provided that you catch them at their
best, which isn't easy.
