Default Wasps!

We have two mature Victorias at the bottom of the garden and they're both
very heavy croppers. However, we're plagued with wasps and, last year, only
managed to salvage around 5lbs between the two trees. I am allergic to wasps
and, if the infestation is too severe, I usually leave them well alone. It's
not just the plums either - we have two Bramleys and two Spartans - we've
managed just a dozen apples from the Spartans and about half a dozen
Bramleys in the past two seasons.

Can anyone suggest an environmentally friendly (as well as people friendly!)
way to reclaim our fruit?
