Trollius Seeds
Sorry for asking for help (again!) with my Trollius seeds. And thank
you for all your kind replies to my recent questions. My Trollius seeds are coming through however only about 6 of many, many more planted have germinated. Those that have germinated look extremely fragile and I'm unsure what to do for the best next. Do I uproot them from the seedling tray and pot them up? And if so, what is the best mixture to make sure they don't look any more fragile than they already are. |

The message

No, I wouldn't uproot them at this time of the year; it's a stressful time for seedlings. The trouble with seeds germinating at the moment is both cold and lack of light. I think the most important thing is the conditions you keep them in. I would say they should be cool (because you don't want them to grow too fast without more daylight) but frost-free, and as light as possible, but out of any scorching sunlight. They might carry on germinating intermittently and it may be that later ones do best in the long run. Janet G |
