Horticultural Sand grades
Could someone advise me on the best sand to use for lightening heavy soil.
B and Q offer the following three. Grit Sand - (Nominal 5mm down) Sharp Sand - (Nominal 3mm down) Coarse Grit - (Nominal 4mm down) Thanks Jonathan |

Try http://www.tmac.clara.co.uk/urgring/faqsoil1.htm and http://www.tmac.clara.net/garden/index.htm FWIW, I'd go for the coarsest, i.e. the grit sand, but I'm surprised they say it's coarser than the coarse grit, and I've not actually used any of the B&Q stuff. -- Chris E-mail: christopher[dot]hogg[at]virgin[dot]net |
