Could someone advise me on the best sand to use for lightening heavy soil.

B and Q offer the following three.

Grit Sand - (Nominal 5mm down)

Sharp Sand - (Nominal 3mm down)

Coarse Grit - (Nominal 4mm down)

FWIW, I'd go for the coarsest, i.e. the grit sand, but I'm surprised
they say it's coarser than the coarse grit, and I've not actually used
any of the B&Q stuff.
