Lo and behold Google tells me that UK.rec.gardening is still going. I
expect many of us left off as life gets so busy in the this
do-it-yourself internet world. Will I have time to keep with this
forum? I hope to.

I left off gardening for many years as next door's 4 leylandii planted
in a 6 foot row stripped my garden of light, food and water. But I am
most grateful for the new neighbours who moved in and cut them down.
Normally, I'd tie myself to a tree to stop the chain saws - but this
time I did a little jig in the front room!

Problem I have now is finding the energy the dig over a large 12' x 12'
bed that has been neglected for 10 years ...I'm not as young as I was.

(* or is it the other way around)

Welcome back. But be aware that you're posting via garden banter,
which isn't uk.rec.gardening, but a commercial site masquerading as a
forum or newsgroup, and which plagiarises urg.

Gardening in West Cornwall overlooking the sea.
Mild, but very exposed to salt gales

Thanks for welcomes. Good to know about the Banter website - I'd hoped it would be a way of avoiding spammers through Google. (My ISP no longer takes news groups.)

This year was also the first for ages I watched Chelsea on the box - good to see more emphasis on plants and less on garden 'hardware'
