I am looking for some sort of strimmer/brush cutter that is easy to

Why not use a hover mower?

I did have a Flymo for a while, it didn't really work too well on the
rough ground, it was OKish to push under the trees but didn't mow
there too well. Part of the problem is that quite a lot of the growth
I'm trying to strim is stinging nettles and such, it's not just
grass (which the Flymo handled OK in the main).
