I agree with Tim's diagnosis. Also you might check to see that the two
blades are oriented to one another correctly. If you've got the 42C deck,
like me, I believe the end of one blade should be pointing directly at the
middle of the other. Maybe if the blades were not oriented right the
resulting airflow may be disrupted in a way that keeps that strip of grass
from being sliced, but thats just a guess. If I recall correctly the blades
are sort of curved where the center hole is, and it is possible to bolt them
on upside down. I had to look at my old blades to make sure I put them on
right. Also, don't try the generic blades from places like Lowes, etc as
they are oftentimes not the right size, even though they may appear close.
Did you get your replacement blades from the Deere dealer? I had this
problem for a while till I realized my blades were worn out (too short on
ends). As soon as the new ones were put in place, this problem disappeared.

It doesn't matter if grass is wet/dry or I go slow/fast ground speed.
