Default New Fan Palm - dying?

It is only planted about 2' from a 6' wood privacy fence, do you think that
I should it should be further away, knowing that would mean I dig it up and
move back another foot or so???

My fan palms do that all the time. I remove them as close to the trunk as
possible, but carefully since those really sharp spines can tear a finger

off.

oh no!
I just purchased a rather nice fan palm and 2 of the 4 palm fronds are

now
completely brown. It's been in the ground about a month, planted it with

a
combination of sand, lady bug potting soil & "natural" soil. I haven't
watered it too much, (weekly, if no rain) I planted it at the same time I
planted a couple of red yuccas which are doing beautifully.

Any ideas, suggestions, comments???

Thanks, BC
