Hello,

I am fairly ignorant about gardening...I water and feed and it grows.

My concern is for several of the trees on my property. They have
developed some type of disease, a damp rust-colored splotch on the
trunk, usually around the site of an old wound.

Naturally, I have no idea what kind of trees they are, but they grow
fast and provide shade. I tried to use one of the online tree
identifiers and it came up with "Elm"--but it mentioned a fruit, and
I've never seen these trees develop any fruit.
