I am now on a mission.
We have one access to our property. It is via a gate from the main road,
walking between two properties (an alleyway in effect) towards our garden
then a left turn to our stairs leading to our flat.
Now the problem is that our alley is used as a cat toilet...BIG TIME. Every
night at least one or two cat dumps would mysteriously appear along the
ally.
We are plagued with at least 6 or 7 cats who use our garden and I have used
everything over the last year or so to stop them fouling the alleyway.
I have used all the specialised chemical deterrents on the market (powders
and liquid) ... NO GOOD.
I have used bleaches, even Jeyes Fluid and Jeyes Dustbin Powder...NO GOOD.
Bought a high-powered, pump water pistol. Cats used to laugh at that. In
desperation I filled it with a Jeyes solution ... it melted the water
reservoir ... NO GOOD.
I now use two ultrasound cat repellers around and down the alley. It has
cut the crap by about 25% but there are still deaf cats about so ...NO GOOD.
What do I do now? Summer is upon us and today the alley was full of crap
and swarms of flies.
I'm getting to the point where I want to buy an air rifle but fear this may
be frowned upon so will not mention it just yet
SERIOUSLY - Anyone know how to build an electric barrier (similar to cattle
fencing but adjusted voltage for smaller mammals). I am no electronics
expert so I am not too hot on volts and currents.
I will be posting soon re gaining info and experiences in the hope that I
could soon lobby my local council to make a bye-law as per references to the
Public Health Act 1938 with reference also to the Environmental Protection
Act 1990.
Regards all
