Default Rudbeckia Needs Help!

The tops of my Rudbeckia fulgida "Goldsturm" plants are wilting. They were
just planted late May, in between the ongoing monsoons we're having in
Hampton Roads, Virginia. No lack of soil moisture around here!

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Jeff

Have you given them extra water? In the absence of any other information on
the plants, I'd say it's possible that they still need some deep watering to
get them past the initial transplant adjustments. The soil may have moisture
but the roots may not yet be able to reach for it. (Lots of rain doesn't
necessarily mean it's penetrating deeply enough for some purposes.)

Trust me, it's been a wash here for two months, too, and yet I see some new
transplants wilting before I get over to them with a deep drink. (On the flip
side, if your Rudbeckia is planted in an area that isn't well-drained, they
could be drowning.....)

Best,
