Anyone have any simple ideas (other than putting a fence around each rose?

Is there some kind of spray?

I'm in Zone 9 (north of San Francisco) and we have deer, skunk, opossum, and
raccoon that come out at night. I don't mind any of them coming around (except
when I found a dead opossum at the bottom of the pool) ...it's just that the
deer are getting to my blooms before I do.

thanks

Some say that hanging bars of soap act as a deer deterrent. Maybe
spraying with Neem Oil would accomplish the same thing.

I spray with Neem oil every 2 weeks to keep blackspot down. So that doesn't
work.

You can always buy coyote urine - that supposedly does the trick as
well.

If you live in a windy climate, you might try some noisy wind chimes.

As a last resort, you might try putting a TV out there and playing
tapes of Three's Company.

Watch it there...I'm a big fan of that show.

My neighbor says she planted some kind of garlic to solve the problem but she
said the garlic evenually 'took over' her rose garden.

And I'll bet that she doesn't have any problems with vampires...
