Default Multiple buds on 1 branch, is that "bad?"

Hi Hi, :-)

Hi hi!

I have been noticing on some of the roses, about 3-5 buds opening up on 1
branch. Is this an ok thing?

It is okay, but on my grandifloras and hts I sure don't like it. I
hate seeing a spray of buds at the top of a lonnnnnggg cane. The
blooms always turn out smaller, too. Here is what I do if I am paying
attention at the first budding stage: I pinch out a bunch of the side
buds, and make the rose make one or two good-sized roses. I like that
better. You can do it with floribundas to a point, but they are
supposed to bloom in sprays, and as they are usually shorter and
bushier the sprays look better on them.

Thanks for the tip.

Or am I doing something wrong when I cut the
branches?

Not--but out of curiosity, how do you cut them?

Ummmmm, I just grab the branch and cut. :-)
Seriously though, I try to cut a 45 degree angle, and close to a 5 leaf
branch. I believe that's they way I have read to do it?
