Default [IBC] Scilla?

I am trying to hunt down info on an accent plant that was sold to a friend and
I as Scilla.
A google search on that word pulls up references to a plant that looks like a
hyacinthe, which this does not seem to be!
The plant we have is puple-green in color, longish strap-like leaves, and round
bulbs at teh base of the plant that are above the soil surface.
Does this sound familiar to any one?
Thanks in advance

Sure sounds like a scilla allright. The latin name is Scilla sibirica,
gets approx. 6" high. Its not a hyacinte but the flowers are similar now
that you mention it, but they are not gathered in clusters like on the
hyacinthe. Im must warn you this plant is very invasive even here in
cold Sweden, so depending on where you live in the US I would be
carefull (I have understood that common garden shrubs can act as a weed
in the southern parts of US).
