Default Need filtration system for BIG pond - help!

(Kevin Carbis) writes:

Beware of Predators! I don't know much about New Jersey but a 2' Koi
pond out here in CA would amount to nothing more than a Seafood buffet
for Racoons.

2' sounds deep enough to me. Raccoons will wade but not swim.
Mine is 3' and never a raccoon loss.

In any case my next pond will be 8 feet deep to maximize volume for the
surface area that fits in my space.

A 4' depth should provide safety from both Racoons and
Herons.

People have posted stories here about heron losses in 5' ponds. I think
the herons just wait until the fish come to the surface.
