Default Growing tomatoes in the winter?

The message
from "Middleton/Walker" contains these words:

The ripening of tomatoes is triggered by the shortening days after

midsummer.///////////////////////////////

If this is so why do my tomatoes start ripen in late May to early June when
the days are still getting longer?

Harold W.

I thought you - - - oh, as you were, Walker, not Wilson.

Pass, on your question. However, I'd guess that you'll see a rapid
acceleration in ripening after midsummer's day.
