OK, hypothesis: Bonsai styles are affected by the culture of the people
doing the Bonsai. You could look at the Chinese tradition, called Penjing,
and
the Japanese, Bonsai. You could tie the Chinese tradition to Buddism/Taoism
and the Japanese to Shintoism.
