Desmodium
The message
from
(Philip) contains these words:
From the Link provided by Steph :
"Desmodium illinoense , Slow germinator - up to a year or more. Store
seeds in layers of moist sand in the shade. Check seeds regularly in
the spring, and sow them all as soon as radicles appear "
As a matter of interetst just what are Radicles ?
When the seed germinates, it's the pointy white thing that emerges
first, before it heads south to become a root.At school, didn't you ever
line a jamjar with damp blotting paper, stick a broadbean between the
glass and paper, and next week draw a picture labelled "radicle"? :-)
