Seriously though, pruning time does depend on the individual rose. Most
roses are pruned after the last danger of frost and before new growth
begins in the spring. However, once bloomers are pruned (usually) in early
summer, or immediately after they've finished blooming. There's even roses
that don't like to be pruned at all. Noisette climbers, for one. The best
advice is to know what you're growing and keep good reference handy.
