Default AOS forum down

I design garden web sites as my full time job. I can definitely say that
upgrading a forum or certain aspect of a web site can take quite a bit of
time. Just trying to get the site to function in all the different browsers
is an enormous task as they all do not render server platforms the same way.
The older Netscape browsers are a major problem and trying to get a site to
degrade nicely in a way that is acceptable and functional is a task. The
new Safari browser is real buggy. Then there is Explorer, Mozilla,
Firebird, Opera, new Netscape, old Netscape, Safari, and a few others.
Browser compatibility is probably only a minor headache though. There are
so many situations that surface under different architectures.

I imagine that the work being done will be appreciated by everyone. I
imagine that whole AOS site will be upgraded in sections. It is a never
ending task.

Anyone got the inside scoop in the AOS forum being down all week? There
is no webpage work that could take more than a few hours.I wonder what
the problem REALLY is? I sent them a note, but of course they haven't
replied.
