Default EarthBox , watering reservoir questions...?

(New) wrote:

Hello.

I saw an advertisement for The EarthBox and it looks too good to be
true.
For example, I'm wondering if the reservoir holds 2.5 gallons and all
you see on top is that tiny straw, then how long does it take you to
fill the water reservoir? Or do I have to take out all the soil and
plants to refill it.
The website doesn't explain that part.

What do you folks do?

Thanks, new

Oh, and the biggest problem I found is overwatering and saturation of
the soil. the best method I found was to let the reservoir dry out
before refilling except during the worst heat of summer. During spring
the water often stayed so saturated that mold was an issue. Without
warmer temperatures the reservoir kept some of the trough planters
saturated for 2-4 weeks.
