I use those white rubber coated wire baskets from Home Depot in the
closet organization aisle. Prevents the koi from eating the roots and
they do better (more blooms) when they are bunched together. In short
order, you can't even tell they are in the basket. I also use the
rubber coated shelves for a long elevated plant ledge.
