xPyracomeles vilmorinii — (0°f, USDA Zones 7-9) This is an interesting
bigeneric cross of a Pyracantha and an Osteomeles! The result is a small,
semi-evergreen shrub with a spreading habit that has small, rounded,
compound
leaves. Clusters of small white flowers lead to coral-red berries later in
the
season.

Well, small is a relative term. Before David DeGroot worked on it the plant
in a 15 gallon pot measures about 8 feet high by 6 feet wide. He reduced it
to a few major trunks and a few small branches, but it was still over four
feet above the pot and as wide as the 15 gallon pot.

I was there.
