it's amazing how much prices can vary! I usually don't bother shopping
around for garden stuff, but now I think I'll spend a bit more time and
browse around. I must admit I mostly just head to Bunnings (which you
probably don't have locally?) and buy everything there, as they are vastly
cheaper than the big Hawkins garden centre place. I haven't actually
ventured to any other nurseries around here (brisbane).

A nursery here sold small bags of coloured gravel for $3.95. A discount

place in Taree had the exact same bags, brand, size etc for $12.

A local "arty farty" type pot place had bonsai pots for $6, $12, and $18
respectively, or the set for $32. The reject shop, also local sold the
same
pots, exactly, for $2 (or 3 can't remember) $4 and $6. Seems adding the
word
"bonsai" to pot is much like adding "gourmet" to sandwich. Same stuff,
just
more $$$ to pay out.
Anyway, I've taken down notes on what stuff to buy, and where. Across the
board some nurseries had stuff for more, yet other stuff cheaper.
But certainly, is been a lesson in paying to shop around, first time I
have
ever done that.
