It does pay to give it a lot of thought. It happens to the best even
with high security. I know that one Italian master has a high chain
fence and this was breached to steal trees. One British owner at the
forefront has two Alsations and high fences/intruder alarms and has
suffered losses in the past. Two members of our 60 strong club have had
all of their trees stolen. One gave up and the other has installed as
much security as possible since.

Anyway I now have a few more ideas now, so thanks.
We aren't really keen on having a dog, for various reasons, though it would
be good. The yard is secured, however doesn't stop people jumping the fence.
Thankfully on one side of our house is a yard that's sunken, so hard to look
over the fence. This place bothers me as it's a rented house, and nobody
seems to stay there long, in poor condtion, so cheap to rent, therefore
attracting some undesireables. Other side of us has nice old people who have
known me for the past 28yrs (my whole life) and over the back is a
retirement village and most of the back yard along our fence has a garden
shed, and large workshed.

Making progress for final displaying places for my bonsai.
Currently they are on a bench/benches in one small area of the garden,
recently raised from ground level where they sat with some other potted
plants, and bonsai in training pots.
Now they really stand out, and they will when the area I am building for
them is finished.
So it raised the issue of security.

hence stealing them.

around there is actually a problem and big market for it.
Really, our bonsai are in the best area for them, and can't/don't want
to
tuck them away in some hidden shady corner.
I can imagine some people here have the most beautiful bonsai and
wondering
if anyone had security for them. Apart from a dog that is.
I have a few ideas such as a infrared activated alarm, fencing with
razor
wire atop, though a little ugly for a nice display. Then possibly
another
which may be a little crude so I won't mention it. Maybe it's all
overkill,
but something to stop people from being able to carry them away would be
nice.
We haven't had any problems with theft of anything in the immediate
area,
that I'm aware of, still being cautious about it.
Any suggestions?
