The message
from (Frank Logullo) contains these words:

Trapping in my Hav-a-hart and release in park last year got me no
walnuts.
Next year, I will trap and collar trees. In 20 years, I've gotten one
walnut.
Tree rats eat them on tree when green. Killing would be option I would
use except wife objects. Chestnuts were sparse this year and
squirrels and deer got most. Frustrating.

Tell her about the farmer who collected his new bride from the station.

He helped her up into the gig and they started off. At a crossroads, the
horse refused to stop, nearly causing an accident. The farmer got down,
held the bridle and snarled at the horse: "That's once!"

A short distance further on, a bird flew across in front of them, and
the horse shied. The farmer got down, held the bridle and snarled at the
horse: "That's twice!"

A bit further on, the horse spied some rather succulent-looking grass on
the other side of the road, and despite the farmer's efforts on the
reins, pulled the gig right up the verge. The farmer reached under the
seat in the back and got out a shotgun, got down, held the bridle and
snarled at the horse: "That's three times!" and shot it.

"Oh, you cruel, cruel man!" cried the new bride.

"That's once...!" said the farmer.
