Subject: [IBC] Question about Japanese contest

I just read in the web page of the Spanish master Angel Mota
(
http://www.angelmota.com/biografia_en.htm), that he won the contest in
Kyoto in 2000, literally you can read in the last line in his biography:
“second price in the japan 2000 contest held in Kyoto”. I believed that it
was not possible, and the contests in Japan were exclusive for the Japanese
people. The trees in the web page look gorgeous, but, is this possibly? Or,
is he just a fool? Can the occidental bonsai artist participle in the
Japanese contest?

Thank you
