I grow my watercress in my waterfall, where the
water is shallow. I put the roots or the stem, doesn't
matter, under a rock to hold it in place.

If you don't have a waterfall you could take a planting
basket, secure it to the side of your filter and put it
in there.

If you have more specific questions, just give me an
idea of your filter and we can figure out a way to
make it work.
