For those of you in places in-land yet still affected by Hurricanes.... My
son is in mid-TX, how much rain/wind do you think they'll get if Emily hits
TX's central coast line?

Anyone on here have to worry about that, live close to the coast line?
Where is Brett Rowley's fish farm? ~jan

Whereabouts in mid-TX? I'm in Austin. If Emily follows the current
prediction at: http://tinyurl.com/bq9yd and hits south of Brownsville,
we probably won't get anything more than afternoon showers. Looks like
they have a hurricane watch/tropical storm warning up as high as Corpus
Christi, but it's so close to land already, it would be hard for the eye
to come ashore north of Brownsville, even if it made a hard turn.

We've been getting some "locally severe" thundershowers off and on for
the last week or so, but I don't think it's even connected to the
hurricane. Just tell your son the one rule that a lot of people forget:
DON'T drive into the water!
