Ooo, I forgot to say that yesterday there was a frog orgy going on in my
pond. Either those frogs know something I don't about the weather, or they
are *really* optimistic...

Ha!

The start of the annual urg frog spotting trail that starts about now in
Cornwall and reaches Yorkshire somewhere in April ...

Okay, I'm off out the door.....we haven't seen any heading for the pond yet
but I did find one hopping around the back courtyard looking a bit forlorn.
We'll be glad to see ANY this year - all the tadpoles simply disappeared
last year. However, the pond has been emptied and cleaned out and many of
the fish given away to reduce the population.
OTOH and nothing to do with frogs, we had about 12 blackbirds on the big
lawn today, one thrush (they're now in very short supply here) and
yesterday, 2 magpies. The latter made Ray reach for his gun but as always,
they were clairvoyant and disappeared.
