Default Tomato Grafting

Hi All,

Thank you for your replies. I have sown the seeds, and if I understand, I
will get the equivalent of a heart transplant--rather than a hybrid (If it
all works out). What will the offspring of such a plant be? My guess: half
the genes of the top bit (scion) and half of whatever pollinates it.

Hi,

Does anyone have any tips re Grafting Tomatoes. I'm giving it a try with
Marshals Rootstock, Red Alert, and Alicante etc.

I've not tried it so can't comment on whether it's worth it.

Will the resulting plant
(if successful) be a hybrid?

No, a hybrid is a sexual cross between 2 diferent species (or
occassionally genera)you will have one variety of rootstock and a
different variety of scion that have been joined together, they will
still both be different genetically.
