this is a good read at the very least, but i have always tried to
encourage people buying lawn equipment etc.,. to buy from a specialist
shop and that they should find a shop where expereince abounds (can be
hard but listen for word of mouth in your locale).

the models sold in discounter shops are special models made for that
price range, it is a little sad that rover and masport find they have
to grasp on to market share and provide models for those markets.

the story is about snapper we used to sell them then they stopped
exporting to australia ??

but a good rule of thumb is buy the manufacturers who don't sell their
integrity out by competing in the discount market. when i was a
mechanic it was a trap then for the buyer purchasing a mower in a box
and i reckon that won't have changed the trap may even have gotten
bigger.
