Does anyone know what is the best method of discouraging moles from
lawns and vegetable gardens.

Old wisdom was those children's windmills with the stick stuck in the
ground, the vibrations are supposed to frighten them away.
Another was pouring Caster Oil into their tunnels but I don't think that has
MAFF approval. :-)
Bringing it up to date, I've also seen electronic Mole repellers in the GCs.
