Of course it's Hawaii, so either they're natives I've never seen
before, or more likely, cultivated exotics that I've also not seen
before! In any case, I don't recall seeing any of these in southern
Florida.

Oops, after posting that, I identified the two trees -- Jacquinia and
Brachychiton. I still don't know the shrub. MMM
