Default Plant IDs?

Hi folks,
I recently visited Hawaii, and saw 2 trees and a shrub there that I
haven't identified. There are pics at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/10239508@N07/

I'd appreciate your ideas. I made some comments about my guesses there.
Of course it's Hawaii, so either they're natives I've never seen
before, or more likely, cultivated exotics that I've also not seen
before! In any case, I don't recall seeing any of these in southern Florida.

thanks. Malcolm Manners

Oops, after posting that, I identified the two trees -- Jacquinia and
Brachychiton. I still don't know the shrub. MMM
