hm, well you could use rocks if you have them!

i reckon sleepers look very nice too. mainly, i think the more "natural"
edgings look nicer but perhaps that is just me. things like that look better
built up a bit into a low wall rather than flat.

old bricks can also look great. old pavers, even.

do you have a large sort of "general garden hardware" type of place which
delivers? or perhaps a 2nd-hand building materials place? (i love those!!)
hopefully places like that would have a variety of bricks, wood & whatnot
that you could check their site & get some ideas. if you wanted to go wild,
perhaps you could find interesting 2nd hand tiles & make a feature of it.
