Default Algae eaters in Koi/Comet pond?

Hi all,

Just curious if any of you have placed a plecostomus in your ponds? Any
negative outcomes?

The downside I see is that you would have to remove them when your water
wasn't warm enough. They are tropical fish. I had some Oscars in my pond for
a few years (May-Sept) They were interesting to watch in the pond. Hard to
catch in fall to bring them inside.
