Default Algae eaters in Koi/Comet pond?

Jo Ann was called in to empty a pond with 30 or so big koi when the owner decided to
move to a hi rise condo. The koi were darting all over and had strange round marks
on them. The woman had been having problems with bacterial infection and some of the
koi had jumped, in fact one had broken its back. As Jo Ann and Steve netted and drew
down the pond they got to the last few inches and discovered a couple huge plecos
down there. When the koi were moved into Jo Ann's pond they all slowed down into
that slow moving koi meandering. No more mysterious round marks or infections
either.

never put algae eaters in with koi. they learn to love koi slime and remove the slime
the koi are going to get infections. Ingrid

Just curious if any of you have placed a plecostomus in your ponds? Any
negative outcomes?
