Default Newbie Question - Pruning a Clematis

Hello

Just spotted this thread I have several clematis and I'm not sure which
class's that each of them may fall in to. Would you by any chance know of a
web site to identify them from.

Many Thanks

This is classed as a group 3 clematis and you should prune right down in
early spring, I cut my group three down to about 18 inches, but the
specialist clematis nursery cut theirs down to about 6 inches. They are
vigorous growers and flower on this years growth. (group 1 are ones you
don't prune, and group two you prune lightly in spring).
