Default avocado

The message
from solaara contains these words:

I have an avocado stone which germanated last year and is now two and a
half feet..I had it outside in the summer and autumn and it flourished
except that leaf cutters were attacking it , so I brought it inside at
the end of autumn, but lately something has been eating the
leaves....I've sprayed it but it still is being eaten...what else can I
do ?...... solaara

Get some of that sticky band you wrap round fruit trees - you've
probably got some nasties lurking in the soil.

Depending on where you are, you might be able to bring it on outside -
there's one loose in a London garden which (allegedly) sets fruit.
